I recently had the chance to help out with the Special Olympics of Missouri. SOMO needed help photographing their Bocce ball and Softball games. Walking among the athletes and other volunteers is profoundly different than walking into any other environment. These athletes truly excel in their sports and the community of onlookers honestly wish them all a wonderful performance and experience. It was a full weekend long community hug.

Sport photography has never been my focus, but I gladly stepped out of my comfort zone and gladly lent my years of wedding and portrait experience to their cause. SOMO recently published many of my images in their newsletters and on their website. I am glad that these athletes and volunteers will have a chance to see themselves participating in such a wonderful event.
